President – Solara Martin
Solara Martin serves as our NAfME chapter’s President. She is a junior from Lebanon, Missouri currently studying Clarinet Performance with a minor in Business Administration. Solara joined NAfME to strengthen her teaching skills, and to be more involved. She says that NAfME has given her great friends and colleagues that are supportive and encourage her to chase her dreams. She wants to continue school to pursue her doctoral degree in Clarinet Performance and be a professor of clarinet at the collegiate level.
Vice President – Andrew Maddux
Andrew Maddux serves as our current chapter’s Vice President. He is a junior from Rolla, Missouri with a major in Instrumental Music Education. He says that NAfME has given him the chance to share his passion of music and its education with others. After graduation, Andrew would like to be a band director for a small school.
Secretary – Hannah Martin
Treasurer – Carly Jones
Carly Jones serves as our chapter’s current Treasurer. She is a junior from Independence, Missouri and is an Instrumental Music Education major with a focus on secondary education. She says that NAfME has been a major eye-opener for her, solidifying her beliefs in education and helping her better find and understand herself as a future teacher. After she graduates from UCM, she would like to teach high school for a few years, then go back to school for a Master’s in conducting. Carly would also like to travel and study music from other cultures to have a more inclusive and worldly-viewed classroom environment.
Head of Fundraising – Holly Noneman
Serving as our Head of Fundraising, Holly Noneman, is from Keokuk, Iowa. She is a junior pursuing a degree in Instrumental Music Education. From networking to meeting scholarship donors and composers, Holly says she is honored to be a part an organization that has given her several opportunities that have and will continue to aid in her success as a teacher. After graduation, she plans to be a band director at the middle or high school level.
Historian – Alicyn Quick
Alicyn Quick, who is from Lebanon, Missouri, is serving as our chapter’s current Historian. She is a sophomore studying Instrumental Music Education. Alicyn says that she appreciates that NAfME supplements her studies and pushes her to become a better musician and educator, as well gives her a chance expand her horizons. After she graduates, Alicyn wants to be a band director at the high school level and eventually obtain a higher degree to be able to teach at the collegiate level.
Member at Large – Gabriel Englehart
Our current Member at Large, Gabriel Englehart, is from Blue Springs, Missouri. . He is a sophomore and is working towards a degree in Vocal Music Education. Gabriel says that joining our organization helped push him to learn all sides of music education, and that he has been able to open up to new ideas, people, and music forms. After he graduates, Gabriel plans to teach at the high school level as a choral director.
